Danielle Avila-Johnston, Creative Director
Danielle has over 20 years of experience in the digital, print and broadcast design field. She started her career in New York City, designing graphics and graphic packages for national television. Regular clients included “The David Letterman Show” and CNN, among others. She later worked as the design director for a Boston-based TV station, after which she became the art director for Be Free Inc., an international, publicly held affiliate marketing company in Boston. She went on to serve as Art Director at the Tyee Group in Portland, Oregon, where she designed and art-directed branding and advertising campaigns for companies including Hewlett-Packard, Bissell, Sprint, and Corning. At Hip Citizen, she concentrates on developing user-focused websites and visual branding packages for clients in a variety of industries.
Elizabeth Nix, Content Director
Elizabeth has extensive experience creating digital and print content, managing creative teams and overseeing website development projects for a range of clients. She’s supervised content development for A+E Networks’ websites (aetv.com, history.com, biography.com); served as corporate communications director for a Silicon Valley tech startup and managed key accounts for a New York City-based digital marketing and tech agency. A graduate of Georgetown University, she began her career on the editorial staff at Cosmopolitan Magazine and has written for a number of other national magazines.
